Hello, my name is Islay Adams and I am the owner of Aurora Children's Therapy. I am a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist with Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner status. I cover Essex and Suffolk, providing therapy and carrying out assessments. 

I came to paediatric occupational therapy through my experience as a 1:1 learning support assistant supporting children with Down Syndrome and Autism in a mainstream school in Dubai. Observing the children’s Occupational Therapy sessions and supporting their goals in the classroom gave me insights into the value of therapy and the importance of a team approach to ensure it is successful. It was this experience that led me to follow a career in the field. I have experience of working in the NHS and in private practice. 

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated practitioner with experience in clinic and school settings. I have the ability to conduct assessments in a manner appropriate to the client’s developmental level and to deliver interventions which are creative and child-centred.
